WHO WE ARE

"Ever since I became a ham in late 2020, I've always dreamed of having my own radio club" - JJ

The CIYAA was soon created around 9 1/2 months later, with the help of Irwin, WØOFY, Emery, N0WOI, Mike, AC0BD, And a few others, We now finally have our own club and not only that, we are the only radio club in years that was created specifically for the youth hams of central, IA.

Our main goal is to increase the youth ham radio population in central Iowa and to encourage others to get their ham radio license and enjoy all the fun there is to this amazing hobby.

Although this club was first formed in early August in 2021, We didn't get our club callsign KF0GZI till 10/21/2021. For general communication and club meetings, we use Discord which is a free-to-download software that can be accessed via Android/iPhone, Chrome OS, Mac, Linux, Windows, or even your general web browser too. General Membership to this club is free to Youth & seniors, as well as adults but a paid membership is needed for adults if they want to run for office, voting and running for office is free for youth & seniors. There is no age requirement to run for office but we strongly encourage an adult or someone who knows how to handle money well to run for treasurer.

If you are a licensed ham radio operator, we encourage you to join us for the CIYAA Weekly club net every Saturday at 8 PM CST on the KD0NEB Repeater located in Perry, Iowa, Frequency: 145.190, -0.6 MHz offset, PL: 114.8, The repeater is also accessible via Allstar: 47282 and Echolink: 710459 (KD0NEB-R)
